Location: We are based in the picturesque village of Burton-in-Kendal on the Lancashire and Cumbria border. Our workshop and display area is on the family dairy farm on the edge of the village. Customers are very welcome to visit and view our products, at Deerslet Nurseries, Burton-in-Kendal. Opening Times: Mon. - Sat. 10 am - 5 pm (close midday Thurs.) Sun: 10 am - 4 pm Cast Stone: Cast Stone (also known as reconstituted stone) has been used for garden statues and architectural masonry since the early 1920s. The stone is reconstituted in moulds as a dry mix to produce a lifelike imitation at a fraction of the cost. The material is hammered by hand into the mould using various mallets. Garden ornaments created by this method readily age and weather, allowing mosses and lichens to form on the surface and eventually forming a beautiful finish that lends time and beauty to any garden. Cold Cast Bronze: Our products are also available in cold cast bronze (Bronze Resin) which is pure bronze powders mixed with resin. A bronze substitute for pure molten bronze. All bronze resin statues are also 100% weather proof. Frost Proof: Reconstituted Stone and Cold Cast Bronze statues are frost proof. Lakeland Creations will replace any Statues that suffer frost damage within 10 years of purchase. Waterproofing: A coating of clear acrylic can be applied to protect casts from ageing. Ageing: Cast will age naturally, attracting surrounding moss and lichen. Brushing the complete surface with an organic material such as natural yogurt may help to accelerate the ageing process. |
